It’s no secret that many rabbits are adopted and ultimately abandoned around Easter time; that’s why in today’s economic climate it is more important than ever to think carefully before bringing home your very own Easter rabbit.
If you feel strongly about adopting a rabbit and are confident that you could provide a good home for one or more rabbits, why not bypass the pet shop and adopt a rabbit from a local shelter or animal rescue mission? The rabbits are just as cute and are in need of a good home.
Since many shelters and animal rescue missions don’t have enough funding for basic running costs much less money for advertising, many people are unaware that shelters and animal rescue missions oftentimes have a wide variety of animals—not just dogs and cats—available for adoption.
While it is always best to call before making a trip down to your local shelter or animal rescue mission (as sometimes foster families will take in animals when there is no more room in a given facility), the following shelters and animal rescue missions are a great place to start if you’re looking to adopt a floppy-eared cutie this holiday.
