It's been a banner year for singer Adam Lambert. Since his breakthrough during one of the most intense "American Idol" competitions yet, Lambert has become that rare lightning rod of attention and fan worship. And all before having the benefit of releasing a single album!
But that is all about to change.
HIs first single is playing to millions watching "2012." His first major release, "For Your Entertainment," is about to be unleashed on November 23. But perhaps the most rewarding aspect of Lambert's skyrocket ride to fame? Being named "one of the most interesting, influential and newsworthy LGBT people" of the year.
Influential magazine Out has named the 27 year-old Lambert as one of their "Out 100" for 2009. The young performer joins such luminaries as director Rob Marshall ("Nine," "Chicago"), comedian Wanda Sykes, Grammy-winning icon Cyndi Lauper and the courageous Iraq combat veteran Lt. Dan Choi on the magazine's cover.
As for his thoughts on his new life as "The People's Idol?"
“I’m the same guy doing the same thing on a larger scale,” Lambert said in the accompanying profile. "I’ve always been an entertainer.”

The Out 100 issue is currently available on-line and at newsstands.

Hurray... and more hurrays for Adam Lambert. His name is so much bigger than the whole American Idol thing. As the old saying goes... Adam has the last laugh!
way to go adam!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adam, you are a sweatheart. Genuine and softhearted. You are trying so hard to please us all...must be tough, we are so diverse and demanding. I will try to have more compassion --even when I dont like everything you do. But I do love you.
Great interview...full of soul.
Shame on the Editor for attempting to capatalize on Adam after the fact. Like a snake that eats its own young! Invite Adam in then try to devour him. Looser!
@carol - love what you said and I want to say the same thing to ADAM baby:
"I will try to have more compassion --even when I dont like everything you do/say. But I do love you." I just love you, ADAM baby.
Got something to say?
