Reebok Easytone shoes help you burn extra calories

Reebok EasyTone helps you burn extra calories away from the gym.

Reebok is introducing a new shoe line that helps you burn extra calories and tone your butt and legs just by walking.  Reebok EasyTone, using similar technology of a balance ball, makes your legs and butt work a little harder than regular sneakers.

Just by walking, Reebok EasyTone makes your calves and hamstrings work  11% harder and your glutes work 28% harder.  The sole of the shoe is designed to be a little less stable.  This instability is what's supposed to make the legs work harder.  This same principle is what makes exercises with a balance ball more intense.  The instability forces muscles to work harder to stabilize the body during exercise.  But is instability what you really want in a shoe?

Many sneakers are designed to be supportive and stable.   Running shoes, for example, are designed to offer special cushioning, arech support, and stability to prevent injuries, especially in runners who overpronate.  Reebok EasyTone Go Outside and Inspire models are comparable to "walking on sand".  While EasyTone shoes might be a good shoe to wear during your work day, they are not the best option for the gym.  They certainly have the sporty look of running or cross training shoe, but the instability of the sole, may leave you vulnerable to injuries.  But no more than a stiletto.
