On my way to work this week, I was run off the road by a young lady that was texting. I was on a two lane divided road and all of a sudden a white Toyota Prius started to cross over the center divider and on a collision course with my white Mercury Marquis. I drove off the road into a ditch as the young driver passed me; she never looked up, for she was to busy texting.
I have written several articles on not using cell phones while driving. I knew I would eventually write one on the dangers of texting while driving. Today's incident made me realize in the first person how deadly texting can be while driving. Instead of a lengthy article with a great many statistics I have a few recent photos of just what can happen when your attention is on texting and not driving.
The driver in this car was texting a friend when he crossed the centerline and this accident occurred. See the slide show and hopefully you’ll never text while driving.
