A graduate of George Mason University’s Theatre program, Christy Denny made quick work to achieve her goals within the theatre community. She has acted, stage managed, assistant directed, and now will be directing at this year’s Capital Fringe Festival. The many years of keeping detailed schedules, lists, and connections have put this type-A professional on top. Since graduating, Christy Denny has been to the Kennedy Center’s Page-to-Stage Festival, worked with the Madcap Players, and has assistant directed shows at Woolly Mammoth, Studio Theatre, Theatre of the First Amendment, and Constellation Theatre Company.
Christy is not done yet. This spring she assistant directs “Stunning” at LCT3-Lincoln Center. She will follow that with an internship with the Literary Department at Seattle Repertory Theatre, as an assistant director. A quick-witted, determined professional, Christy Denny has made a prominent mark on every company she has encountered, thus far. “I am a Christy Denny fan,” states director Allison Stockman of Constellation Theatre Company, and as many other directors will agree, that in theatre, there will always be place for Christy Denny.
