Beth Zare is a French horn player with Symphony Silicon Valley and Monterey County Symphony. She can also be found playing in the pit of Opera San Jose and Ballet San Jose. She graduated from the University of Southern California School of Music in 1986 and started her professional playing career in the country of Mexico. She spent eight years playing principal horn in the Orquesta Filarmonica del Bajio in Guanajuato, and the Sinfonica Nacional andOrquesta Filarmonica de la UNAM in Mexico City. She was a member of the Mexico City Woodwind Quintet and toured extensively throughout the country. She currently freelances in the Bay Area. Beth first became interested in writing when she toured across the country with the Western Opera Theater. Her articles appeared in the AFM, Local 6 newsletters. Later she became editor of the newsletter produced by AFM, Local 153. Beth is a member of the Bay Area Travel Writers. Visit her website.
