Hoboken, NJ- Calling all RENTHEADS! There is “No Day But Today” when Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer-prize winning Broadway musical RENT comes to Hoboken this February. The ground breaking rock musical is loosely based on Puccini's opera "La Bohème”. It follows a year in the lives of seven friends as they deal with love, loss and AIDS while living the disappearing Bohemian lifestyle in New York's East Village.
RENT is proudly presented by The Theater Company. The Hoboken, NJ based theatre company has been presenting plays since 2000. In June 2007,TTC was awarded Associate Membership with the New Jersey Theatre Alliance and is also a founding member of the Hudson County Theatre Alliance.
Rent created superstars out of the likes of Jesse L. Martin, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel to name just a few. So it was no surprise that auditions for the show brought people from all over the Tri-State Area to have the chance to play the characters that changed a generation of theatre goers. The young and talented cast bringing this beautiful show to life include Tamala Baldwin (Joanne), Noah Brendemuehl (Roger), Glen Llanes (Angel), Nicole Nicastro (Maureen), Jake Ottosen (Mark), Reny Rosado (Benny), Antoine L. Smith (Collins), Katelyn Spinosa (Mimi) Jerome Amanquiton, Mimi Francis, Anna Grace, Brandon Hightower, Stav Meishar, Kara Moulter, Fred Mursch, Casey O’Keefe, Ben Schnickel, Steven Slatten and Adena Weisholtz.
The popularity of the show with a edgy rock score and emotional story quickly gained national attention when it opened on Broadway in 1995 and it's popularity has lived on since closing on Broadway in 2008.
