Michael Mcdermott plays The Old Town School of Folk Music , 4544 N Lincoln Ave,this Friday, July 31st at 8pm.
Michael has a new album, Hey La Hey. It is a folksy rock, easy listening feast.
Which Michael says, "You need to love yourself before you can allow anyone else to love you. I was going about it the wrong way." The recently marrried McDermott has figured out love, but he is wrong if he thinks no one loved him before he became aware of it. He is a Chicago native, now based in NYC and he has plenty of fans here that love him very much! He has played with the Wallflowers, the BoDeans, Sheryl Crow, Cracker, the Goo Goo Dolls, David Crosby, Luka Bloom, Chris Whitley, Old 97's, Marshall Crenshaw, Willy Porter, Joe Cocker, Cowboy Junkies, Richard Thompson, the Replacements, Bryan Adams, John Wesley Harding, Jars of Clay, Aimee Mann, Joan Baez, Seal, and many others. Michael is a prolific song writer, having recorded many many albums, over 14. He has a huge inventory songs to choose from. Michael is a big time star, it is only a matter of time before his pay equals his output! I am very curious and excited to hear what he will play on Friday, it promises to be a great show.
