The perception of "Pentecostals" can be quite varied.
Some picture plain clothes people, with men in suits and women in dresses, devoid of make-up and jewelry. Others picture people thumping large Bibles in judgment of society. Still others see people going into ecstatic states, speaking gibberish, and acting foolish.
Recently, Chris Moyles (and others) of the Breakfast BBC radio show describes his surpirse at witnessing the live television broadcast of a Pentecostal service in England. What captured his attention and amazement was the passionate joy displayed by those in attendance. He was absolutely amazed by it. The broadcast clashed greatly with the presuppositions and stereotypes that he previously held. What he glimpsed is actually the mainstream experience of modern "spirit-filled/Pentecostal" churches.
Listen to his description and view the segment below.
Could it be that God wants to surprise you with joy as well?
