What makes a good Pearl Jam show? Not much - the band just has to show up, right? Lulz.
Okay, what makes a great, memorable Pearl Jam show? Solid performance, of course, and a well balanced set list doesn’t hurt either. How many rarities? how many hits?
Does it have to be at least two and a half hours? How about three?
Does it have to have at least two encores and end with Yellow Ledbetter? Speaking of the closing song, what about the opener? A slow-burning start or a straight-up rocker?
The crowd definitely has to be feeling the band and likewise, right?
Okay, so what elements need be present to qualify a Pearl Jam show as one of their best?
Rarities like “Breath” or “Leash” being played as the result of a sign campaign?
Treating Boston-area fans to every song from the 2003 touring roster?
An all acoustic concert?
A pre-album release show where several new songs are premiered?
I have my favorites, but what are yours?
I’ll be nominating three concerts from every year the band played at least ten shows for readers to vote on. If, during any particular year, there’s a pick I leave out that you feel is worthy, email me or leave it in the comments section. State your case well enough and I may add it.
Voting will last for three days. The next day, I’ll announce the show with most votes, then we’ll move on to the next year.
We’ll start in 1991 and move ahead chronologically up until 2008. At which point, I’ll bracket off the best shows from each year in a tourney-style head-to-head match up to determine the best Pearl Jam concert ever! (of which most fans will disagree with, probably myself included :) )
By the way, if you have any shows you'd like to see represented in 1992 or beyond, let me know.

u can also see in u tube with regular quality the one performed on 26-09-2005, that was great too but the conextion with the crowd (eddie wept in that show remembering Jhonny Ramone) the setlist and energy
makes it no comparable to any other one i saw (i saw great lots of ones)
