So this isn't technically PC game related, but I thought I should put it out there, since the more exposure these guys get, the better. Mario Marathon 2 is currently live, and you can watch the webcast at www.mariomarathon.com.
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, last year a small group of gamers decided they were going to play through all of the Super Mario games consecutively, and they put it on the web for the world to see in hopes of raising money for Child's Play. Child's Play is a charity started by the guys over at the Penny Arcade webcomic which raises money to buy toys, games and movies for children's hospitals. Last year the Mario Marathon raised over $11,000 for Child's Play, and this year they're hoping to beat that number.
The Super Mario Marathon 2 started today, July 10th, at 9am, and is expected to go all weekend. Games on the roster are Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. At the time of this writing they're working on beating Super Mario Bros 3, but if they get enough donations they plan to return to the early games after completing Mario Galaxy to finish them 100%.
