(Paulding County, Georgia) Today, Paulding County resident Bill Carruth announced his intentions to run for Georgia Senate District 31 which covers all of Haralson and Polk Counties and a majority of Paulding County.
Mr. Carruth, a Republican, is no stranger to politics. Bill served on the Paulding County Board of Commissioners as both a Post Commissioner and Chairman from 1990 to 2011. He presently serves on the Georgia Board of Natural Resources and has done so since 2003 and has owned and operated several businesses.
On one of his reasons for running, Mr. Carruth stated, “My decision was made with a lot of thought and with input and support of my wife, Laura, and our three daughters.”
“We need leadership in the State Legislature and more importantly, we need effective representation for our area in the Senate.”
Mr. Carruth is the third candidate to join the race for District 31 after resident Jason Rogers announced his intent to run early this month. They will be going up against incumbent Republican, Georgia State Senator Bill Heath who has served since 2005.
