Sweet Sunday: Sweet cupcakes of Boston

Sweet Sunday is a weekly feature showcasing "sweet" products for your next party.

This Sweet Sunday features cupcakes from local Boston-based cupcake shop, Sweet. 

I had the pleasure of enjoying a seasonal Sweet cupcake last night.  I chose the lemon cupcake which (like all of Sweet's cupcakes) was beautifully presented.  It featured a dollop of perfectly-swirled frosting topped with a sugared lemon candy. 

Sweet's signature buttercream frosting is amazing.  It's sweet without being overpowering and isn't dry or crumbly like some store-bought frostings.  The cake, on the other hand, was a bit too dry for my taste; I enjoy a moist cupcake, especially when I'm eating a fruit-based cake. 

The best thing about Sweet cupcakes is that they're all prepared from scratch and are freshly baked each morning.  They're also trans fats-free and made from the best ingredients around.

Sweet currently offers seven daily cupcake flavors and eight seasonal flavors.  Seasonal flavors include Lemon, Lemon Raspberry, Pink Lemonade, Pina Colada, Bubblegum, Caramel Macchiatto, Red White and You, and Strawberry Shortcake.  Daily flavors include The Sweet Cake (vanilla), Dark Chocolate, Organic Karat, Cappuccino, Red Velvet, and Boston Cream Pie.  Sweet also offers Pupcakes — a $1 applesauce/oatmeal concoction for canine friends — and, on Mondays, vegan cupcakes.

Sweet cupcakes and cakes are beautifully decorated and a wonderful addition to your next party's menu.  You can pick cupcakes up at one of their two locations — Back Bay or Harvard Square — where someone will even run the cupcakes out to your car once you arrive.  The Sweet van will also deliver in Boston or Cambridge for a $14.95 delivery fee.
