Standardized Patient Program at RVU (photo RVU)
Rocky Vista University in Parker utilizes a unique medical training method – actors trained to be patients.
These actors, known as Standardized Patients, participate in several training sessions designed to prepare them to portray patients with specific medical conditions. On exam day, medical students practice clinical skills with Standardized Patients in a safe hands-on environment. The actors then give feedback on their experiences.
The goal of the RVU Standardized Patient Program is that all graduates possess fundamental clinical skills such as performing a competent physical exam, taking an accurate medical history, and building rapport with patients.
Jeremy and Andrew, current RVU medical students, are highly enthusiastic about innovative programming such as this. “The school is just incredible,” stated Andrew.
RVU is seeking actors from diverse populations to become Standardized Patients. People of all ages, educational levels, and cultures are encouraged to apply.
Standardized Patients earn an hourly wage depending on the activity and must have reasonable flexibility in their schedules. Sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday during the work week. RVU is seeking actors that are reliable, punctual, and have excellent communication skills.

Oh boy, howdy...jest when I was needin' some exter bucks fer zebra feed an' look what comes along! I qualify, yessirree ah do! I been a divers -a- populator; been most ages; education levels, you axt?...well, from below the curb on Larimer Street to the top of the space needle in Seattle!
