Save money on back to school textbook shopping

If you have teens in college then you know how expensive it can be to buy all the books they need for just one semester. Does your son or daughter just head straight to the campus bookstore and buy everything there? There is a much better way.

There are text book comparison websites that are  extemely simple to use. They compare the price of any textbook at many online booksales websites. Here are 3 that will help you save money:

  1. AddALL
  2. BigWords
  3. TextBook Hunting

On all of the sites, all you have to do is type in the name or ISBN number of the book into the search bar in the middle of the page. If there is more than one book with the same name, they will all be listed with all relevant details so that you can select  the correct book.

After you choose the correct book, the tools will list all sellers, from lowest price to highest, with the condition of the book, availability, shipping price and total price including shipping. There is also a "buy it now" link to each seller to make things quick and easy for you. The main difference in the websites is how many sellers that they search.

I absolutely love Bigwords.com! Such an amazing website for finding your textbooks! Sometimes you can find a brand new book cheaper then renting it! It just all depends on the book and the condition you want it in. I feel it never hurts to check all the bases before making a decision and when it comes to textbooks I try to save as much money as possible. Its seriously just all in where and how you look too. If you've never tried Bigwords.com before then your really missing out on something that could be saving you!

Thanks Kevin. It always helps to get extra opinions. It really is crazy to pay full list price for textbooks if you can avoid it.

Good sources to find textbooks for cheap. One site I love to use is www.eCampus.com. I use to buy used and new textbooks, but now eCampus offers retail textbooks and downloadable eBooks. I use their marketplace to sell my books to other students for great prices. Check them out and use promo code goldfish to save 5% on your next purchase.

I love using Chegg to rent texts because I save $$ and they ship fast. Use code CC123047 for a discount every time you order or $5 back when selling Chegg your used texts. Put the code in and hit the "apply" button. This code DOES NOT EXPIRE so it can be used with every order. Feel free to share the code with friends: CC123047.
