To help promote the fashion industry's continued vitality, Mayor Bloomberg has announced that September 10th, NYC will be participating in the global event, Fashion's Night Out. Over 700 stores from all five boroughs of NYC will be open that night from 6 - 11pm with model and celebrity appearances and other fun suprises.
All retailers participating have been invited to create creative customer experiences that welcome all. No tickets are needed for this event.
Special t-shirts have been designed for Fashion's Night Out NYC and are already available at many of the participating retailers of the event. 40 percent of retail proceeds from the sale of the Fashion’s Night Out T-shirt will be donated by the retailers to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center.
As part of this event, there will be a clothing drive on September 12. The clothing will be distributed to AIDs related charities throughout NYC's five boroughs. Many participating Fashion Night Out stores will have receptacles set up to take donations from Thursday until Saturday and will have information on other places to drop off clothes. Both Fashion Night Out and the clothing drive are looking for volunteers to help out.
