I had the pleasure of reading author Nicole O’Dell’s four book interactive series entitled Scenarios. Each of these teen books created different scenarios that our teenagers could be faced with and gave you an option to choose what the teen would do. I enjoyed each of these books and am counting the days until the next ones in this series are released, unfortunately that is not until next year. Since many writers interview authors and always seem to ask the same questions Nicole and I came up with some fun questions for her to answer.
Cindy: What is your favorite book?
Nicole: Deadline by Randy Acorn! It's a great story about friendship and finding God. Alcorn does an unbelievable job with a fictional account of heaven. Life-changing!
Cindy: What is your favorite movie?
Nicole: I have several. A lot of them are 80's chick flicks. But, I'd have to say that my recent favorite is V for Vendetta. I love the writing and the political discussions it opens up.
Cindy: What is your favorite food?
Nicole: Pizza, if you order it correctly, it contains all four food groups! That must be good!
Cindy: What is your worst habit?
Nicole: Picking at my fingernails. I wish I could quit that.
Cindy: What is your most embarrassing moment?
Nicole: Oh boy. I have two mortifying moments.
The first one happened when I was a member of a very large choir. I was working in the music office and rehearsal was due to start in a few minutes. I had already put my purse and things on a seat in the risers where we practiced. So, I climbed up there to get a tampon from my purse. Deciding not to haul my purse and stuff with me to the bathroom, I slipped it up my sleeve.
On my way to the bathroom, the Music Pastor called from his office, "Hey, Nicole, can you come in here for a minute?" He wanted to talk about idea for an upcoming event. I got lost in our discussion and forgot about the tampon in my sleeve. Getting animated, I said, "Ya know, we could use the field out there..." and pointed hard toward the window behind his head. The tampon flew out of my sleeve and flipped end over end through the air right over his head to the floor right behind him. We both watched it fly overhead in slow motion. After it landed, he just said, "Anyway..." and we continued talking like nothing had happened.
The other one was a couple of years back. I had asked my doctor to email a medical report to me, which included a detailed description of what was found in the exam, including APPEARANCES of a female exam. Later that night, I had to email my church (pastors, elders, Sunday school teachers...everyone) something with an attachment. Guess what I attached?
Cindy: What is your funniest parenting moment or kid story?
Nicole: Just recently I got to see a very clear view description of the difference between girls and boys. My daughter, Megan (one of the 20-month-old triplets), was cuddling her doll. She hugged it, kissed it and patted its back. She swayed back and forth while she held it and whispered things in the baby's ear. Then, she laid the doll gently on the coffee table. Logan, another triplet, picked the doll up by its ankle and walloped Megan over the head with it.
Cindy: What is one of your proudest parenting moments? Nicole's answer to this sounds like a future scenarios story in the works!
Nicole: I have so many, but I'd have to say that I was most recently very proud of my daughter, Natalie, 12, for calling me from a friend's house when the family wanted to watch a movie she wasn't sure I'd approve of. She was right, I said no to the movie, but praised her for taking a stand and doing what was right. She endured some teasing and frustration that evening, but my respect for her choice will endure forever!
Cindy: What is your favorite song?
Nicole: He Is by Aaron Jeffrey. It says every book of the Bible and gives an attribute of God that's depicted in that book.

Very entertaining and 'ahem' informative article. So funny, my daughter walked in while I was reading and I couldn't stop laughing long enough to explain why I was laughing. Great job!
Oh may goodness no way could I top either of Nicole's embarrassing moments - and I thought I had some real dozzies :( Fun interview Cindy :)
I found this very funny, certainly entertaining... But I was very disappointed that when I tried to re-post your blog, I was told "some people found it offensive..." and refused to put it on my page...
I didn't realize she was so funny! The embarrassing moments were hilarious! I'm really interested in checking out her books now!
