Text rage. Text threats. If these issues aren't addressed we may see text deaths

There are more threats against Duval County students via text message. This time, the texts threaten to "toe tag" several female students at Andrew Jackson High School.  A toe tag is a piece of cardboard normally attached with string to the big toe of a dead person in a morgue

Last Saturday, a 16-year-old student from Raines High School, Anthony Jones, was shot. His name was listed in a text message that threatened to "off" him and several other students.  His aunt, Cheryl Simmons notified both Rains High School and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office when he received this text message and disturbing phone calls.

Today there are a new series of threatening texts in the Duval School district.  Duval Schools are taking the new round of text threats seriously. JSO is currently investigating the texts.

Duval Schools Spokesperson Jill Johnson says they're working hard to maintain safety on all of their campuses, and officials appreciate parents and students making them aware of the threats. She says they're working with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Gang Unit to verify how real some of these threats are.

Education is the key to prevention.  Parents, educators and law enforcement need to ban together to prevent school violence
