According to the Orlando Sentinel, Casey Anthony will face the death penalty at her trial next year.

"While the quantum of evidence sufficient to seek the death penalty will virtually always be an issue, that matter is generally best left for the jury," Judge Strickland wrote in a two-page ruling.

Casey Anthony, 23 years-old, is charged with first-degree murder of her 2 year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony.  Her daughter disappeared in June of 2008 and she never reported her missing for 30 days.  Caylee's remains were found on December 11, 2008 in nearby woods of her family home.

Casey Anthony has retained a dream team of attorney's.  Many are curious how a single mother with a limited education, a range of off and on employment can afford such a defense.  Her parents, George and Cindy Anthony have been supportive, but have yet to visit her in jail.  Their claim is the video taping of their visits and how the public will scrutinize them.

Earlier this week, Strickland denied defense motions that the Orange County Jail stop videotaping Casey Anthony in jail. He also denied a motion to dismiss charges of check fraud.

Even though she is now facing the death penalty, I still think she'll get 15 to life. Her attorney's are pretty good even though they come out with some very odd defenses, but that Andrea Lyon has never lost a death penalty case. That's why I believe Casey won't be put to death.

Yes she will. She murdered her daughter and she'll NEVER get past that. She will die for her crime. Rightfully so.

Any mother that can take her child's life deserves the death penalty. Dream team or not - they took this case for publicity and they got it. Some people don't deserve to be parents and Casey Anthony certainly didn't. It'll be a year before the death penalty is announced. That year will be a living hell for her. Then the death penalty will be served. The one who suffered most was Caylee!

To thecatsmeow01, I hope you're wrong about the 15 years to life. I at least hope she gets life. Even though Lyons has never lost a DP case, I maintain some hope this may be her record breaker since she has one VERY inept attorney working under her (Jose Baez). JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE!! I, too, am anxiously awaiting the murder trial.

She SHOULD get the death penalty... she killed her OWN DAUGHTER! not to mention her daughter was adorable, and never got to really live...

Rest In Peace Caylee Marie Anthony !!!
