Since March 17th when eighth grader Josie Lou Ratley was nearly beaten to death by Wayne Treacy, allegedly with the assistance of his 13 year-old girlfriend, Kayla Manson, the news of Josie has traveled through Florida as well as through our country.
Josie Ratley survived three brain surgeries and has been in rehab since April 27th. Today it was announced she would be coming home soon. However going home doesn't mean she is recovered. She has a lot of healing both physically and emotionally from this horrific incident.
Her mother, Hilda Gotay Ratley, spoke today with tears and emotion. Extremely grateful for the progress Josie has made, yet cautiously optimistic on her prognosis. "She is recovering very slowly," she said. "She's trying, with a smile of course, we try to teach her how to read, how to know colors, how to dress herself."
Hilda Ratley is also asking for help when Josie arrives home. She says her daughter needs a lot of help in her continued rehab at home. The National Voices for Equality Education & Enlightenment is an organization that has stepped up to try and help out Ratley and her family.
As Pray for Josie Lou Ratley Facebook Group grows, the family needs the help of our community and others for the continued help for Josie's recovery. Please review the list of needs and pass it to all your friends. Donate today!

so sad I wil pray fur her
She is partly at fault. Mean, spiteful, stupid. I see the family doesn't mind begging for money. She didn't deserve to be beaten but she was asking for trouble and found it.
