It's a girl! It's a girl! Now what to name them? Photo by Meral

It doesn't appear that the most famous female twins, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen have any influence on the baby name game any longer. Emma is definitely the winner, coming up in five of the pairings of the top fifteen name combinations for 2008. Take a look at this list of names and you'll see that the Bible rules - many twin girls names come from religious origins, such as with Hannah, Grace, and Faith. Unlike the boy counterparts, there were not many name combinations with the repetition of the first letter, with the exception of a few such as the "M" combinations (Madison and Morgan, Mackenzie and Madison, for example).
The fifteen most popular, in order of popularity, are:
Gabrielle and Isabella
Madison and Morgan
Ella and Emma
Faith and Hope
Isabella and Sophia
Hailey and Hannah
Mackenzie and Madison
Ava and Emma
Ava and Olivia
Makayla and Makenzie (or Mackenzie & Makayla)
Abigail and Emma
Faith and Grace
Emma and Sophie
Anna and Emma
Autumn and Summer
