Kids should never bring guns to school – but now they shouldn’t even bring toy lego guns to school or they might be suspended.
P.S. 52 principal Evelyn Matroianni’s alleged apologies didn’t come as consolation after she came close to suspending Patrick Timoney, a 9-year-old student for possession of a 2-inch toy gun, which he had placed in the hand of a Lego police officer during a lunchtime toy break.
The principal yanked the fourth-grader out of the lunch room and called the child’s parents to alert them he was being threatened with suspension, taking the child to her office and actually filed paperwork admitting an A-4 infraction. “She told me to write that I had a gun," Patrick said. "She said, 'A gun is a gun.'"
A spokesman for the city's Department of Education says that the principal, Evelyn Matroianni, was just following the “no tolerance” policy of not allowing any weapons on campus.
Clearly this was not a safety issue and drove the child to tears believing that his school principal was mad at him. It was however a very bad judgment call.
The principal who claims she called the child’s parents with an apology, said she never meant for it to go this far. Yet the Timoneys have not heard from the principal.
The principal over-reacted and now Patrick is afraid to return to school. Her decision has caused much ado about nothing.

I can't believe this. this is why I am home schooled that is just unruly.
WHAT?! This is is is... um what's the word? Ah yes, BAIL ORGANA (Code for any rude word). My classmates bring LEGO Star Wars minifigures with BLASTERS to school. This rule is barely enforced. Is this principal the sister of BAIL ORGANA (note that i don't hate the Bail Organa character from star wars). This is just... uh OMG!!!! This is horrible. I LOVE LEGO. Most of my entire school loves it. Watch out. BAIL ORGANA!!!!!!!!
