Jordyn boyer and her winning sandwich

I didn’t even know there was a Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich contest. But, it is a good thing for Jordyn Boyer that she not only knew about the contest, she entered and won it! By winning the Jif®  seventh annual Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich contest Boyer pocketed an amazing $25,000 scholarship.

The five young finalists made their sandwiches in New York City where the PA elementary student’s creation took top honors. All five received a Jif® gift basket, and the four runners-up each received a $2, 5000 scholarship fund. Here is Jordyn Boyer’s winning peanut butter sandwich recipe:

Ingredients

Sauce:

  •  3 Tablespoon Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoons honey mustard

  • 2 teaspoon honey

  • 1/2 cup water

Chicken mixture:

  •  2 Tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 small onion

  • 1/2 red pepper

  • 1/2 yellow pepper

  • 1/2 apple (any kind)

  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 4 chicken breast slices or any deli lunch meat chicken

  • 1 Hoagie/ sub roll

 Cooking Instructions

·         Cut peppers into strips, cut onions into rings and slice apples in strips. Put into sauce pan with olive oil and cook on medium heat until soft.

·         Cook chicken breast slices and add to the pepper/onion/apple mix. If you are using deli chicken, cut into strips and add it to the pepper/onion/apple mix.

·         The deli chicken is already cooked and just needs to be warmed.
