Nannies with positive PPD TB testing allowed to care for Octuplets

Nadya allows TB positive nannies near octuplets
Nadya Suelman;s lawyer admits they knew some of
the Nannies had positive PPD TB test results and
still allowed them near the octuplets!

Watching the Dr. Phil show there is a lot of she says, he says, she says, about what really happened inside the Suleman household since the Octopulets were released. While there aren’t a lot of things both sides agree on, one of the most concerning things they both admit to, is the fact that Nannies with positive PPD TB testing were allowed to care for the Octuplets!

According to Allred , “The third report was my concern the nannies were showing up with positive PPD TB [tuberculosis] testing, and Nadya gave them permission that they could wear a mask before the chest x-ray test results come back showing that they are negative,” she says. Linda West-Conforti explains that she overhead nannies and Kaiser Personnel talking about three nannies that had tested positive for tuberculosis.

Jeff Czech (Sulman’s lawyer) admits they knew about it and says they were concerned about TB exposure, but justifies it by saying Kaiser had told the nannies who were showing up for the training that if they were feeling even a sniffle, that they couldn’t show up. Apparently, that was enough for them but….

As Linda West-Conforti explains, “We had one nanny who was literally coughing up her left lung there, and she shouldn’t have even been there,” Later, they sent the Nanny home after she showed an indication of a positive sign of tuberculosis. “But Dr. Phil, that whole house was exposed to possible [TB] — I’m not saying that’s what it was, but we don’t know.”

Scary stuff.

This has never been about the kids only about Suleman getting as much face time as possible, These kids are mere props in her quest to get a show on TLC. Good luck with that as she's toxic and Orange County CPS has to be watching this house like a hawk, and she's nuts if she thinks Kaiser isn't in there taking a good look under the guise of training her non-english speaking nannies. Her previous nanny in Whittier worked 6 days a week, some overnights and made $100 a week for her services and she spoke almost no English. She uses people at every opportunity and now she's attempting to use 14 innocent children.

Most people wouldn't know, but most of the nurses, teachers, and many adults out there would show a positive skin test for TB. That doesn't mean they will transmit it, only that some time in their life they have been exposed. The nurses would have known this, this was scare mongering.

My sister tested positive too BUT she was not allowed in the classroom UNTIL ALL THE TEST RESULTS WERE BACK and I think that is a big difference. If all of the new teachers are screeened BEFORE they can step into a classroom - or near the children - wouldn't it behoove Suleman to have this completed? Even her lawyer knew about it and was like, Well they won't come if they are sick but they need the jonb and one did come that was sick - that is child endangerment and basically a Mother and lawyer that are putting the kids safety first!

I am a nurse practitioner, and I also have a positive PPD TB skin test. Actually, 10% of the population would have a positive skin test if tested, but very few would actually have TB. I wouldn't be too worried about this unless they have signs and symptoms of TB, such as weight loss, night sweats, and coughing up blood.

Most parents are not expected to have every adult coming in contact with their babies to have TB tests. These are healthy babies going into a home with six young children, they should be treated as normally as possible. They should not be treated as "patients" and don't need specially trained nurses unless they have some special problem. The last two babies might be a different case, but chances are the hospital won't release them till they are ready for their home environment.

Marlene - I use 1 day nanny for 3 year old twins and I can assure you that I would NEVEr have let her come into my home without proof she was up-to-date with all shots and that she did not test positve for TB.
There are 10 young children in that house, obviously the Mother isn't the main care taker of any of them (she would have to stay home 24/7 and still need help and we know she is gone for up to 12 hours awsy form them - during the day!) Someone better be putting these kids safety and livelyhood first.
She keeps says she is in denial about how much work is involve how about you wake up idiot and start acting like an adult?

Her own lawyer (where that money come from?) said they knew and were concerned so Marlene maybe they don't need specially trained nurses but they do need people cleared of all problems before being around ANY of the 14 kids!

The other six children are going to be in contact with kids at school, neighborhood children, many other adults from the neighborhood. You can't put the older kids in a zip lock baggie every time someone brings home a baby,or prevent them from seeing their baby brothers and sisters. Normal families don't do that. And yes they test teachers in some schools, but they don't test all the kids do they? so any child in a school is exposed to hundreds of other untested, germy, normal kids. The notion that you can prevent a baby from coming in contact with germs or that it would even be a good idea, is laughable.

I hear what you are saying marlene but they also had one of these Nannies coughing all over and her own lawyer spoke about how wrong that was. And Sulemman herself has stated she shouldn't have allowed the media to hold the babies and on and on. The issue here is over all dilagence - she has NO security and people coming and going all the time. As a Mom I am a lot more concerned than she is and in reality mine have a much less chance of abduction or injury. She is a media pig and there is nobody that can dispute that - grooming first and then only feeding the kids when she is being film.
Boy is she going to have one big payback day! These kids are seeing their Mother how often? It's no wonder they are always smacking her, sticking out their tounges and running off to the actual adults in the house!

I think she is going to continue to play the media, just enough to pay the bills. The kids and babies may grow up better under the care of nannies than with her in charge, and the public is going to get pretty bored with the whole circus. When everyone leaves her alone, CPS will be keeping a hawk-eye to make sure the kids are not abused or neglected. Most of the problems this family will have will be caused by the media. Personally I think the babies should have been adopted to people who can give them a normal home. It's not too late for her to wake up and do the right thing for these babies, but I really doubt it will ever happen.

Marlene, most teachers and nurses do NOT test positive for TB. I was a teacher and my daughter is a nurse, so I know this is simply not true. And every school in the state in which I live tests teachers for tuberculosis. A positive test means that a person has developed an immune response to the bacterium that causes tuberculosis. This response can occur if someone currently has TB or if they were exposed to it in the past. Additionally, Suleman's babies are at greater risk than ordinary, healthy children because of low birth weights. It is very poor practice to have nurses who may have tuberculosis around these fragile babies--I just don't think Suleman gives a darn for those poor children.

Hey dummies, a positive skin test doesn't mean jack.

Dim witted Americans. All the TV has to do is change the tone of it's voice and you people soil your pants.
