At some point, most parents stand by while someone else coaches their children. We don’t always get to choose those coaches which for the most part, works out fine., But there are times when the kids (or the parents) have a problem with the coach:, If they are young you can step in but what about once they are older? I couldn’t help wonder about that as I watched Benjamin “Coach”" Wade on Survivor this season. Watching his arrogance and his joy in manipulating others I wondered just how the parents of the girls he coached were feeling. Had they let this man have any influence on their children and was he really that self absorbed in real life? Sadly, the answer is yes.
While Coach seems to find it hard to distinguish truth from fiction, one thing that was true: he was a coach. In fact he was the head coach of Southwest Baptist University's women's soccer team .I say was because his contract was not renewed because he just took off to be on Survivor without getting permission and/or a replacement.
It didn’t seem to faze Coach as he stated in an interview with the Springfield News-Leader that his “team is in shambles right now” because he wasn’t there.” He then continues with news everyone on his team (and their parents) wants to hear, “I am phenomenal at manipulating people. … I manipulate my assistant coaches. My highest-paid assistant coach right now is getting $5,000 a year. I have a staff of six. It’s the biggest coaching staff in the NCAA. Nobody has six coaches. I have these girls come and pay $20,000 a year to come and play for my school and not give them a dime of scholarship, there’s others that I do. I’m awesome at manipulating.”
Well he is phenomenal at something, after all didn’t he say he survived a shark attack, a hurricane, being abducted by Amazonian tribesmen who considered eating him, stalked by a jaguar, broke a world’s record and been bitten by a piranha? All of which according to Coach only helped make him who he is today.
And now that he is unemployed, he is heading to Hollywood! Coach’s Hollywood goals included not only an appearance on the next All-Stars edition of Survivor, but to also host his own television show called The Coach Wade Show.
But if that doesn’t happen overnight, it’s okay because according to Coach, “I have a couple of college coaching opportunities that are on the table that I'm looking at. I know probably since I was such a character on the show that there will be opportunities in Hollywood”
"This has opened up a whole new world to me .I loved being myself on camera”, says Coach. “There's going to be a lot of interest from the show in who I was and what I did. I'm definitely excited about that. I'm going to be the next big thing on the big screen." While I really doubt that, I just hope he doesn’t do any more coaching: would you want him to coach your daughter?

How about how awful the guys - JT and Steven - were to Taj! they were despicable! How terrible!
Why the sour grapes on Coach? The "eye-rollers" on the show were boring and perhaps can't imagine an adventurous life prior to being on the show. Talking about your life's experiences doesn't make you an egomaniac. He played with honor, if you have any ill feelings about any of the players it should be 2-faced Steven.
Did anyone ever hear if jeff was able to verify Coach's lie detector test??
Steven was a whinny baby but Coach was so stuck on himself it was pathetic! Just read the interview - he is in love with himself and is actually believing the lies he tells others. Almost eaten by a tribe that doesn't eat people - and on and on what a pathetic loser.
I'm guessing the lie dector test was a set up and the "on your trip in the Amazon were you grabbed by natives?" Probably is trye, they grabed his hand to help him off the boat so it can be a totally different story and still be true!
