Jon and Kate plus 8 - cute kids but a sad show
We all know how busy Kate is these days with her 8 kids, TV show and all her speaking engagments so I thought I'd help her out by making her New Years' Resolutions list for her this year.
10. I will give to others without the camera rolling and being a spokesperson so my children will actually have a reason to follow that example.
9. I will quit complaining about my so called “tight budget” and crying poor while being paid to make a TV show, get free clothing, take lavish trips and are move into a multimillion dollar home!.
8. I will let my children get dirty and have cupcakes on their birthdays even if they don’t eat their dinner so they won’t remember me as a control freak, killjoy and grow up into ones themselves.
7. I will take Mady in for counseling or therapy before her behavior escalates. I will have take time with her alone and really LISTEN to her and try to help her see she is loved and not just a side show of the Jon and Kate plus 8 shows. I will make sure she gets any (and all) the professional help she needs NOW and for good measure I will take Cara in for a session as she may just be handling things inward.
6. I will quit begging for (and then taking) money (love offerings) from hard working people on church tours. These are hard working people who actually work to make a living and are giving from their heart because they BELIEVE you need the money, which you obviously, but they do!
5. I will love my children equally. I will not tell my boys they are gross or icky or Mady is like Jon because she is a screamer? I will be more aware of what I say to my children and understand that my words can sting for a lifetime.
4. I will turn my focus on love and family and not money. I will remember that my kids see and hear everything I do and make my choices accordingly. I choose to bring them into this world and I will treat them with love as I care and protect them on a daily basis.
3. I will stop showing my children in the shower and on the potty. I will wise up and understand how inappropriate it is to having a crew not only filming these scenes when I am in the room, but even more so when it is just the kids, the crew and camera as well as showing them on TV as entertainment. I will remember I am the parent, stop these tapings and start protecting my children from inappropriate exploitation.
2. I will stop belittling Jon. I will stop screaming at Jon. I will stop insulting Jon. I will stop insulting Jon him behind his back, to the camera, in front of the kids and to his face. I will try and remember I love Jon and choose to be with him for more reasons than the show is called Jon and Kate plus 8!
1. I will stop making a living on the backs of my children because I really do love them and understand what this is teaching them. They are NOT a circus act; their privacy should not be sold off to the highest bidder.

I WAs a loyal watcher but now all it is is shows of them getting free crap and taking free trips. The kids are turning into whinning brats and Maddy needs help now!
Jon needs to grow a pair and take the kids and get away from Kate. ANY judge that saw this show would hand him custody of the kids in a heartbeat.

Now I do enjoy watching the Duggar family with 18 children. Whether you agree with their ultra conservative values or not, their parenting is a loving example to all.

Of course the author is not a personal friend of Kate...Kate has no friends! She is mean and selfish and has used up and thrown away any friendships that she has ever had!
People can nit pick if that is what you want to call it, Kate made the decision to put her family and herself of TV for everyone to see and nit pick if they choose...I did not do so, therefore I have less people "nit-picking" me. Great resolutions but Kate is blind to all of her "issues" and will never willingly give up the perks that selling out her family provides her. I stopped watching many months ago because it's too painful to watch and wife and mother tear her family into shreds. I fear whatever has gone wrong with Kate is unfixable and so very sad.
Well, I see that the Katers are out in force! And early too, how about that?

It is so funny to see the fanatics come to J&K's rescue. If I were J&K I would be more worried about them than the non-fans. They are just wierd! OMGosh! I started watching the show on day one and I was such a supporter UNTIL Kate let the show and money become her focus. And really until after that but my friend MADE me watch 3 episodes on TIVO with 2 friends that had never seen it and WOW it started sinking in as they made comments when seeing it for the first time.
I started to say "oh but she is so busy" and things like that but all of us have full time jobs and 3-5 small kids and somehow treat them and our husbnads with love. We don't have a lot of extra money but we don't beg or complain or whine we know what is REALLY important.
I'll never watch it again and I say to all you supporters - please watch it with a person who doesn't know Kate (and not blindly supporting her) and see how they see her. Really your eyes are closed and you are blinding following your heart and that is sad becasue she is a bad Mom - would you let people film your kids nude when you were in another room? They come up not blocked out on the net - it is not a good Mom that allows that! And fire engine red? That is not only wrong but mean spirtird and you need to look inside to find what would make you say that! The author is writng an entertainment piece that some will agree with and some won't but why attack?

TRUE it's like they are love sick - like little 14 year old girls thinking a boy is "hot" only they feel that way about Kate. BEYOND CREEPY!!!!!
Thing is, Kate should and will continue to be looked at and probed - she signed away their privacy on the dotted line. she once said she "welcomed" input from viewers. Let's hope she takes it! She has some major issuses and her kids are sadly going to be the ones that pay the price - Jon can escape but they will be stuck with her at least 1/2 the time. Oh the therapy bills down the road....

I actually was directed here from google when I was researching Kawasaki disease and after reading her article on that noticed this one.
People are so passionate which strikes me as a bit odd. I watch the show when nothing elese is on and have never made it through a whole show. i had a verbally abusing Mom and trust me, the things Kate says will STICK. As well as her belittleing their father in front of them will STICK and they will suffer from it all throughout their lives - I'm 34!!
Turn off the TV, pray for the Travolta family and read to your kids today while you can!
Kate will fade away and her kids will understand what she did was pathetic but not their faults - at least I pray they do.
Bravo. I wish you could have thrown in the fact that they just purchased a 1.3 million dollar home, at a time when most Americans are struggling to keep the home they have, and they are still going around asking for "Love Offerings".

Excellent points. I do hope the downturn in the economy will bring people back to what is important in terms of families and relationships. Small children on reality shows for entertainment purposes will hopefully become a thing of the past.
These are all positive points - Every parent should strive to put the bests interests of their children as their top priority, and strive to act maturely as an example for their children. Even if they are on television.
Excellent points. You forgot to mention the million dollar+ home they just purchased in Wernersville, PA and how they purchased it only from profits of this show and the income their kids bring in and have so for the past 2-3 years. So sad.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read this, Jon and Kate! It would be so wonderful if you could see these points and if they sunk into your heads. I used to love the show when it first aired but became totally disgusted by it with the teeth whitening, hair plugs, continuous trips, and the sudden absence of all of those people who the children loved and who loved them back. The kids suffer.
CANCEL the show - maybe the network can do the right thing and think of the kids, obviously, their mom isn't!

Do these other families allow their kids being filmed in rooms alone while nude, call their kids and husbands mean and abusive names, yell at their husbands in front of their kids on a daily basis, ask for "love offeringings" while making over a million a year? There are much worse shows out there then this one. Supernanny, wifeswap the Duggars and their cult like family just to name a few. I smell jealousy.

I think most people have concerns about Kate's verbal stabs, the selling of the family's privacy and her favoring the girls.
Those are real concerns and jealousy doesn't play into that!
I too enjoyed the show until the cupcake episode. I went on the internet because I knew there were other people that felt the way I did, and I found GWOP and other sites. There are many.
You people that believe these parents are everything good, need to open your eyes and ears. They are nothing like the Duggers, Roloffs.
Jon and Kate do not have feelings for anything or anyone, their whole focus is $$$$. It was not always like that. There was a time, in the beginning when they were a ordinary, struggling couple with 2 sets of multiples. Today, it is all about KATE, and that is what I have a problem with.

It jsut makes me curious why some people would want to defend people like J&K. If you saw them out somewhere do you think they would even acknowledge you? They wouldn't. A lot of people have met them and have been shunned for lack of a better word. So don't think that you are defending loving people, because you are not. Now if you offered them money, they might be your friend for a minute. You fanatics look and sound like idiots!
Christine....GWoP is a blog. Gosselins Without Pity. Many people blog there who care about the kids, and what is happening to them. I read it, and post there. I am not a jealous person, not do I hate Jon and Kate. I don't approve of the way they exploit their kids, and hope they will stop. Sadly I think they are too money hungry to care.
