The Quality Time Project© in Greenville, SC: Spend Less Money, Spend More Quality Time with Kids

This article is first in a series on parents spending quality one on one time with each child using $5.00 or less. It's called The Quality Time Project© and each idea will incorporate resources in the Greenville, SC and upstate South Carolina area although similar resources are available in other areas of the country.

Take this quality time challenge to spend only $5.00 at Frankie’s Fun Park and leave with smiles on both your face and your child’s face. Your child will most likely want to try this challenge again soon.

Frankie’s Fun Park & $5.00
When many parents think “Frankies’ Fun Park”, they think $30.00 budget. But this quality time project idea will get a big return on its $5.00 budget. Plus this idea will work for almost any age child. From preschoolers to teens, all ages will enjoy this quality time challenge that requires planning skills to follow a few simple rules.

Rules for the Frankie’s Fun Park $5.00 Challenge

  • Take Only $5.00 In: Parents and kids must leave any other money and plastic cards in the car, else they might be tempted to blow the budget on this quality time challenge. If you have a Frankie’s Fun game card, take it in to save on the card fee.
  • Play All Games Together: This quality time challenge requires that parent and child only play games that can be played together. Any two-player video games qualify. Air hockey is a fast paced two-player game. Skee Ball can be played side by side.

These two rules require that parent and child plan ahead to see how many games they can play with the $5.00 limit. When the five dollars on the card has been used, parents can give their child a hug or high five and then exit the building.

Caution to parents – leaving after only playing $5.00 worth of games might be tough for some parents. Just do it! Leave!! Resist the urge to play longer or get snacks at Johnny Rockets© for this trip. This quality time idea is a quick 30-minute trip. Even if your child asks, say something like, “We’ll do it again another time. I had a great time!”

Frankie’s Fun Park is located off of Woodruff Road behind IHOP in the same parking lot as Garden Ridge.
