Honor Society takes time out for fans

Honor Society at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY

Look out parents- purchase your tickets now for the next Honor Society concert, as your tweens and teens will most likely want to go…but so might you.  Cool enough to be played continuously in the car and appropriate enough not to worry when your daughter becomes infatuated with them, Honor Society is definitely here for awhile and if they follow in the footsteps of their headliner and close friends, The Jonas Brothers, they may shoot to stardom just as fast!

These four friends from New York are making their dreams a reality: Michael Bruno, on lead vocals and guitar, Andrew Lee who plays bass and performs back up vocals, Alexander Noyes plays drums, and Jason Rosen completes the group with keyboards, guitar, and backup vocals. This is Honor Society.

In addition to their debut album Fashionably Late, being released on September 15th, Honor Society has three major soundtracks under their belts including Wizards of Waverly Place: the Movie, Bandslam: The Movie, and Alvin & the Chipmunks II will be released on December 25th. You can see their latest video “Where are you now?” here.

Opening for the Jonas Brothers as well as headlining their own tour simultaneously, these guys are dedicated to their fans and to each other.  Their friendship is extremely important to them, as it is what brought them together, and they seem incredibly grateful to the Jonas Brothers, for their connection with them has been a tremendous help in getting their music out. Noyse told us, “I went to school with Kevin (Jonas) and he is exactly the same as when we were 15 or 16.” Bruno added, “Super humble!”

With opportunities to hear their music and meet with them just about everywhere they go, the band mates of Honor Society have made an impressive attempt to connect with their fans. They have huge online following, constantly updating fans on Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter and they have been all over the tri state area this week. On Wednesday in Cincinnati, they met fans at KISS 107 on Montgomery Rd, performed an acoustic set at Biggs on Mason- Montgomery Rd, and playing a song at Z104 in Madison- all before heading to Cleveland for their Full Moon Crazy Show last night.

After a recent stop in Lexington at Rupp Arena, they were kind enough to talk with me as well as a hoard of screaming tweens.  Several dozen autographs and photos later, they seemed thrilled as they stayed to meet every last fan.

When asked what the goal of the band was, Bruno’s response was “to connect with as many fans as possible.”
