A couple camping near Salida, Colorado, reported seeing an odd creature in a series of photos they took at their campsite, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.
They also reported seeing a UFO that evening.
The following story is unedited.
CO, July 24, 2009 - Strange creature in picture of my wife playing flute while camping! MUFON Case # 18348.
We were camping near Salida, Co on July 24th 2009. I took 3 photos of this creature by the fire.
I didn’t see the creature until later that night! You can see it has an arm sticking out of left side in all 3 photos. Not sure what it is?
A few minutes later we saw a huge white light in the sky moving towards us! It vanished very slowly.
It came from the top of the mountain. We were in a very remote camping spot accessible to 4x4 only. I took photos of the object and it looks like a worm like white light.

Creature? What creature? The photo is grossly underexposed. Try running "equalize" in Photoshop, THEN tell me what you see. Meanwhile, it's quite presumptuous to say there's a "creature" in that photo. It's just silly.

That's woman playing a flute. What with yesterday's seagull it seems there is a sudden outbreak of mundane explanations for mysterious events - weird!!!
Roger I give up where's the monster. Is it supposed to be the funny thing that looks like two finger puppets in the fire?
The only thing I see is what looks like a small lobster claw on the right side of the photo, about two thirds of the way to the top, coming out from behind the woman's shoulder. But I would really like to see the other photos. Until then I suspect some sort of light phenomena doe to the fire. Obviously there was no flash in use so I believe anything standing there would have been easily visible to any people present.
When I smoke good stuff in the woods by a fire I see cool stuff too but just let it go for I was high right? LOL All I see is a supper imposed crab over a photo
