The paranormal investigation world lost a most interesting witness when Joe Misnik passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010.
I don't believe Joe set out to have any involvement at all in anything paranormal, but as chance played out, he and his wife purchased what the region calls, The Hinsdale House, a haunted property in Hinsdale, New York, once owned by the Dandy family and the site of a Catholic Church exorcism in 1974.
Paranormal Investigator Michael Rambacher introduced me to Joe Misnik in his kitchen late one Friday night in October 2009, as my team moved onto the property in anticipation of shooting a documentary that weekend. Michael is local to the site and has been logging the anomalies there for a long time.
Joe had a great sense of humor, was most kind and warm, as he invited dozens of strangers and cameras and lights into his home that weekend.
While the history of the home and property brought us to Joe for the documentary - a story told by former homeowner Clara Miller in her book, Echoes of a Haunting - Revisited - Joe did have two encounters with a UFO in his lifetime.
The first story is from the property - where he described a rather small UFO. But his first sighting was during WWII, and that is the video piece I have chosen for this feature today, where Joe tells the story in his own words while I ask a few questions afterward.
