Beyond Ghosts Interactive Paranormal is not your typical paranormal investigations team. They are a group of experienced "paranormalists" who first came together to head up one of the more popular paranormal based radio shows on the World Wide Web.
Over the course of the last few years, hosts John Crocitto and Ryan Willard have had the occasion to interview and rub elbows with some of the biggest and brightest in the field of paranormal research.
Guests have included Barry and Brad Klinge, lead investigators from Discovery Channel's "Ghost Lab," renowned psychic medium Chip Coffey, from the A&E Channel, Keith Age, from "Children of the Grave" and the SyFy Channel, and Robb Demarest from "Ghost Hunters International," just to name a few.
Enlightening to say the least, these encounters have also helped Beyond Ghosts to further their expertise in paranormal phenomena, as well as their use in the techniques which help to collect possible evidence of ghosts and hauntings.
Now Crocitto and Willard have taken their program to the next level as of late, and have created a popular lecture series aimed at giving back to historic locations far too often forgotten by most others. In an age of modern technology, where computers and first person video games are all the rage, Beyond Ghosts uses the paranormal as a popular theme to highlight Western New York's historical past, and raise much needed funding to help preserve places of historical significance throughout the region.
Known as "Para-historians," the guys from Beyond Ghosts specialize in historical locations, and have found their efforts to be well received by the public.
"It doesn't matter what we believe, it only matters what others believe," said Crocitto. "Beyond Ghosts makes no attempts to change the views of others or convert them, we merely offer others a chance to investigate historical places, to see if there might be paranormal activity for themselves."
Beyond Ghosts has investigated and researched a number of places over the last few years, including such infamous locations as Appomattox Court House, Buffalo Central Terminal, the Ohio State Reformatory, and the Rolling Hills Asylum.
"We walk a fine line, and look to maintain a balance between science and the supernatural," said Crocitto." Far too many groups out there nowadays are either one way or the other." Beyond Ghosts tries to make their events and programs accessible and fun for all participants, and is always looking to improve their presentations and spread the word about history and its vital importance. Crocitto and Willard contend that until we can successfully build a time machine, Beyond Ghosts' efforts are the next best thing, offering a glimpse into history through showcasing the "ghosts of our past."
The way Beyond Ghosts sees things, the current popular trend in all things paranormal is inevitably going to cool off some.
According to Crocitto, "It's paramount that we make the biggest impression possible, striking while the iron's hot, to preserve as many historic icons as we can before it's too late.
"Sadly, budget concerns are a fact of life for many historical societies and museums everywhere. Beyond Ghosts is hopeful that their novel approach to paranormal investigations catches on and spreads like wildfire, as so many historical places are in jeopardy and in need of help.
Beyond Ghosts is made up of four seasoned paranormal research professionals : Brandon Bristow, John Crocitto , Martin Szewzcyk, and Ryan Willard. Sounds like a good thing. I hate it when historic sites are torn down.
