Neal Parks is an author, researcher, investigator, public Speaker, and the founder of Parks Paranormal Research and Investigation. His team consists of ten members whose personal experience and knowledge enables everyone involved to collaborate collectively, and when time prohibits a full group session they work well separately, this simplifies the countless hours of research required to bring light to the mystery of the paranormal.
With over twenty years of first hand experience, P.P.R.I. stands alone as an investigative research organization that not only seeks the truth, but also investigates events to the point of exhaustion.
So far, they have thoroughly investigated hundreds of paranormal hot spots throughout Ohio, including Elizabeth's Grave, Crosskeys Tavern, Guest House Bed and Breakfast, Lloyd’s Sweet Shoppe, The Union Block, the Archive Building and dozens of other places in Chillicothe. They have also investigated the Ghost Town of Shantyville in Richmond Dale, the Moonville Tunnel in Nelsonville, Resurrection Cemetery in Waverly, and the Memorial Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. P.P.R.I. had the opportunity to investigate the various unexplained activities in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area, and has spent several weekends in search of the enigmatic Mothman. This, combined with investigating the city of Boston, Massachusetts led to Neal being invited to appear as a guest speaker at the 7th Annual Mothman Festival in 2008.
Through the years, Neal has investigated UFO sightings throughout the midwest, the south and as far west as Nevada. He has also interviewed eyewitnesses and investigated cattle mutilations in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Southern Ohio. Neal and his team have also conducted an investigation at a 300-year-old cemetery in Beaufort, North Carolina, which just so happens to rest directly behind the former residence of Black Beard the Pirate. He has also researched and investigated the crop formations in Peebles and Bainbridge, Ohio, as well as an onslaught of bigfoot sightings throughout Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Michigan, Vermont, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He has taken part in a walk-through at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina and so much more.
The quest for freedom of information has become a personal mission for Neal. He has been an advocate for discovering and uncovering the truth since the age of 11. To some, that may sound a little too young to become consumed with questions about such serious matters; however the millions of ghostly reports from around the world, the Roswell incident, the Philadelphia Experiment, and other mysteries of the world, the universe and our society have always played a major role in not only our world, but also his own personal growth process. His journey started with fascinating stories that his grandmother would tell about local and regional ghost legends, UFO sightings, bigfoot sightings and various other unworldly encounters. Personal experience also played a major role in his wide-eyed wonder and reflection.
In 1995, Neal formed a paranormal research team that went by the name of Ohio Supernatural Alliance (OSA). The group was active from 1995 until 1998. He tried to resurrect the team in 2004, however they had all grown apart and some of them had moved away. On December of 2004, Neal befriended three individuals that had the same concept in mind, and after they realized that Neal had been doing this type of research since 1986, they were more than eager to get started with their own team. They were known as S.C.O.P.S. (South Central Ohio Paranormal Society). In September of 2007, Neal and his team were featured in the book Ghosts from Coast to Coast – America’s best Ghost Investigators. In January of 2008, Neal and his wife left the group in order to spend more time with their new baby, and to pursue more of their own research in fields where they were more needed and felt more comfortable. This is how Parks Paranormal Research and Investigation was started. In September of 2008, Neal released his first book, Paranormal Chronicles Tales of Humor, Horror and the Absolutely Strange. His first book has been a major success, and has been featured in dozens of news articles and on the radio, as well as having his work chronicled in the documentary Ghosts from Coast to Coast – The Best of the Best in the Paranormal Field. Neal has completed two more books, and is expecting his second book to be released by the end of 2010.
