This is a short and to the point one. For those that are starting out in this field there is a lot you need to learn and understand before you actually go out and do a case. Today’s article is just another point that I think needs to be made to all of the "newbie’s" out there. Simply put "Do not expect anything to happen." If you go into an investigation expecting to see the ghost of George Washington or just Aunt Emma, you are bound to be disappointed. Most of the time paranormal investigators are sitting around waiting and waiting and waiting. The paranormal activity doesn’t begin just because an investigator is present. If you go in expecting nothing to be there and for nothing to be paranormal then you won’t be disappointed. If you are at a private home of a client and you are there to help them, keep control of your emotions. You never want to seem excited or disappointed in front of them. They are looking to you for help, so your body language and attitude is easily picked up by them. You need to be as even tempered as you can thru an investigation. This holds true for the time when something does happen as well. Don’t run out of the house when Aunt Emma is speaking to you, remember "run dude". If you are helping someone then you need to act accordingly. I have been on several investigations when something amazing has happened. I am also happy to say that when it did, we went about our business as usual. When we got into the car for the ride home, that’s when we said top each other, "Did you see that?" In front of the client we remained professional. As always remember that you are representing more than yourself while doing this, you are representing the paranormal community.

I am in agreement with Mark. Expect to find nothing during your investigation. Most evidence is found afterward while reviewing photos, audio, video, and recorded instrument readings, but if you do always act in a professional manner.
