
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Intrigue Class
Tim Holtz, Designer & Senior Educator for Ranger Industries, will be teaching four fabulous workshops at The Queen’s Ink on August 15 and 16, 2009.
Tim plays an integral part in the development and design of cutting edge paper crafting products. He has teamed up with companies like Advantus, Tonic Studios, and Stampers Anonymous to bring unique products that work hand-in-hand with Ranger Industries’s extensive lines.
Tim will be teaching four brand new workshops at The Queen’s Ink in Savage, MD. All of the workshops are very different and each project is more amazing than the next.

Create a hand-made journal to treasure your nostalgic memoirs, photos, and secret thoughts. You will discover the art of book binding with a simple stitch that will have you on your way to mastering this craft. We will explore metal embossing to design custom covers, tinting with alcohol inks, distressing with inks, and a unique hardware assemblage. This technique can be used to create various sized books from just about anything once you learn the tricks of the trade.

Explore the world of whimsical winged birds in this one-of-a-kind workshop. Let your creativity soar as you create an artistic bird of your own. Learn techniques on distressing with paints, collage, and dimensional assemblage. The possibilities are limited only to your imagination and trust me when I say there are more findings, charms, and elements then your wildest dreams can envision. Your creative bliss awaits you to take flight.

Discover your inner artistry in this colorful, textured, and very altered workshop. Embrace your imperfections and creative freedom as you design and embellish patchworks of art. Learn techniques using inks, paints, masking, custom textures on grungeboard/grungepaper, and fulfill your addiction to trinkets and treasures. Create a hanging patchwork grunge piece adorned with ornate flair and let your creativity explore the imaginative as you enter a world of patchwork pandemonium.
Registration can only be made in person or by phone. No email requests will be accepted. The Queen's Ink anticipates a large volume of calls, so please be patient. If you don't get through on your first try, they ask that you please call back. And realize that they may not be able to return your call right away due to the number of people trying to register.
The Queen’s Ink has secured a block of rooms for travelers and is also making arrangements for a catered meal plan for anyone who is interested.
