
Crazy for Clear Class by Lauren Ferguson
Lauren Ferguson, Mixed Media Artist, will be a guest teacher at Scrapdoodles on July 16 and 17, 2009.
Lauren's work has appeared in several national magazines. She was a 2007 Design Team member for Ranger Industries and currently serves on the design teams for Tattered Angels and Prima.
Her books are full of earthy tones of color and texture. She creates art with her books.
All the individual parts that are transformed into a book -- from the covers, to the stitching to the paper chosen to be signatures – come together to sing a song. Each piece is chosen for the note and the harmony it brings to the music that is made.

I must be crazy!!! You will be able to fit 10 - count them with me1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 - photos on this clear mini album.
Clear is one of the hottest items in scrapbooking. We see it everywhere. It is cut into fun shapes and used to make quirky embellishments. You can ink it, stamp it, rub on it, and add embellishments that hang off the edge. Of these, stamping is my favorite.
You will need to bring at least 10 wallet size photos that can be cropped to fit. When you are finished you will be Crazy for Clear!

Tattered Angels has outdone themselves with this great gate album! You’ll learn to tap your deeper emotions and create a vivid travelogue for yourself or as a gift. You will be misting, masking, embossing, and stamping to create this unique one of a kind journal. This journal has limitless possibilities. There are tags that flip out to the side. You will create pocket pages and learn how to add lines by stamping and inking. We will also be using two mystery techniques. You will have a place for all of your photos and journaling. We will be using Glimmer Screens, Glimmer Chips, Glimmer Stamps and the new Communique line from Graphic 45. Find your creative muse just in time for summer trips.
This can be a journal for yourself or someone special. Best of all, this book fits TONS of your vacation photos AND journaling OR you may want to just make it about your personal "journey"...lots of possibilities in this one and you can even color coordinate your journaling tags to the corresponding pages...I LOVE this combo book! These mini pages make the perfect Acrylic Trading Card in this FAST PACED mini-class, you will learn how to stamp, add collage images, staple through, sew into and transfer images onto acrylic. By combining one or more of these quick and easy techniques you can add layers and texture to your projects. I will also share the ins and outs of how to work with other types of mixed media junkets on acrylic.
At the end of the hour you will have three beautiful little works of art that are worthy of being traded.
Glimmer Mist-De-Mistified

Everyone loves it! Now what to do with it? Are you ready to spray your heart out? In this TECHNIQUE BASED class you will learn to use glimmer screens on both boy and girl pages. In this class you will be making 6 pages - 3 double page spreads. You will learn how to color match Glimmer Mist to your favorite pattern pages. You will learn how to make your own background pages. We will use resist techniques in new and interesting ways. You will find a renewed love of your watercolor pencils, crayons, acrylic paints and stamps. At the end of this TECHNIQUE BASED class you will leave looking to spray Glimmer Mists on anything that you can find. Each participant will be able to customize page titles for your photos.
Lauren has realized her goal of achieving creative freedom and encourages others to find their own. She is a firm believer that "there are no mistakes in art, just opportunities to embellish."
