Originally from Massachusetts, Carol Porter did not vote until she moved to Florida over twenty years ago. It was like she woke up. She now freelances for several publications, and works part-time for a small weekly. She attended the Democratic National Convention in Boston during which Senators John Kerry and John Edwards accepted the nomination of president and vice president, and also the recent Democratic National Convention in Denver where President Obama accepted his nomination. She is addicted to reading political biographies.
