Miss America 2009 Katie Stam served up Blizzards Aug. 12 at Dairy Queen in Orlando, Florida in preparation for the annual Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day. She also promoted the day and conducted several TV and radio interviews.

Thursday, participating Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill locations celebrated the fourth annual Miracle Treat Day and donated proceeds from every Blizzard sold that day to Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals.

“I am honored to be a spokesperson for Children's Miracle Network to promote Miracle Treat Day, as I know this event will do so much to help children in local hospitals throughout North America,” said Katie. Dairy Queen has been a supporter of Children’s Miracle Network since 1984, raising more than $77 million during that time.

Katie is in Orlando this week to support Miss America’s sister program, Miss America's Outstanding Teen. The final night of the pageant is Aug. 15, where Katie will host and perform as one of the highlights to the evening's finale.
