The Witchery is located in downtown Galveston in the old “Central Drug Store” building on Postoffice Street. This metaphysical book and gift shop seeks to provide resources and tools for those on a path of enlightenment and self-discovery. Products in their store include books, incense, jewelry, statuary, herbs, gemstones, candles, oils, potion bottles and much more. They host psychic readers on a regular basis and are in the middle of their first classes on Tarot.

Before walking through the front door, you know you are in for a real treat. The store is clean, beautifully decorated with original artwork and well organized. There is a slight Gothic feel in the main area, but it is not overwhelming. The back room, which features two charming spaces for psychic readings, has a more tranquil and serene feel that is enhanced by a small fountain. The energy of the store is delightful and magickal. The staff was a delight to talk to and was very helpful.

This store has almost anything a Witch could want. On their website, The Witchery boasts that they have “over a thousand book titles” and they deliver as promised with dozens of different titles for a variety of topics. Their selection of jewelry is larger than any in the area and encompasses a large range of paths. The statuary, including pieces from Dryad Design and Mythic images, is well displayed. You will have a hard time walking out without purchasing something.

So if you are in the Houston area, take a day trip down to Galveston and check out The Witchery. They are just a few streets over from The Strand on Postoffice Street.

I found the Witchery this past weekend and was quite impressed! They have just about EVERYTHING in this store. The store attendent (whom I'm assuming was Clyde) was very friendly and very helpful. This will definatley be a regular stop for me when I am in Galveston.

I was vacationing in Galveston and was so excited to stop by here. They do have something for everyone, however most of their inventory is books. The lady who helped us was very helpful, even looking up stuff she wasnt' sure of - propery of certain crystals, etc. I'm not very knowledgeable about all but enjoyed this store for the most part. I would have loved more crystals, gems, etc. The pics they showed on their website were what interested us but when we got there they didn't have most of what was shown. Maybe it was a bad day but the lady clerk was annoyed and couldn't concentrate (she said) because my autistic son was clapping (not loudly) and rubbing his hands. The day I was there the general consensus we heard was "don't touch" which was disappointing as I like to touch and feel and look close. They did let us do that with the crystals under the glass but not the things out in the room. Then they sold me and my 9 year old daughter crystal hanging gems which we were told were a certain kind of crystal/gem when come to find out they were just glass. =( Partly my fault for not being more knowledgeable but felt very disappointed to be taken advantage of. I would say know what you want before you go or just go for fun.
