The sixth annual Conference on Current Pagan Studies is about to take place January 30-31, 2010, through the Claremont Graduate University. This year’s keynote speakers are Donald Michael Kraig and T. Thorn Coyle.
The American Academy of Religion now recognizes Pagan Studies as a legitimate field of study. This, along with an expansion of peer reviewed journals, such as, Goddess, The Pomegranate, and an academic presses such as Alta Mira who publish works on Pagan Studies, makes it a great time for a Conference on Current Pagan Studies.
The academic conference welcomes the Pagan community to be part of their event. They are also interested in ways to affect the future through writings, politics, research, consciousness or other ways that you have found to think of saving the planet for future generations.
Other Pagan events you’ll want to save the date for are the festivals that are coming up.
The Goddess Festival is happening on September 9-12, 2010, in Northern California. This bi-annual festival is sponsored by Z Budapest and the Susan B. Anthony Coven Number One. This women-only event is a fund raiser for the Women’s Spirituality Forum, which means that the costs of registration fees are tax deductible.
PantheaCon in San Jose, California, is happening February 12-15. This is a huge Pagan event held in one of San Jose’s largest hotels. Attending will be Pagan leaders Z Budapest, Selene Fox, Starhawk, Ruth Barrett, Oberon Zell-Ravenheart, Diana Paxson and many, many more. It’s a huge Pagan gathering and well worth attending.
Circle Sanctuary’s 30th annual Summer Solstice Festival, Pagan Spirit Gathering will take place June 20-27 at a camping location in Missouri. If you register by March 4th you can get the discounted registration price; otherwise, the deadline is June 4. Presenters will include T. Thorn Coyle, Jason Pitzl-Waters, and Selena Fox.
