CSC Wins Business Transformation Agency Delivery Order to Provide ERP Implementation Services

Distributed by Press Release

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (Map) - EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has won a contract to provide enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation services to the Department of Defense's Business Transformation Agency (BTA). CSC estimates the value of the delivery order, which has a one-year base period and five one-year options, to be $100 million if all options are exercised. The value was included under the joint Department of Defense Enterprise Software Initiative blanket purchase agreement, which CSC originally announced on June 21, 2004.

Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will implement the Defense Agency Initiative (DAI), which will replace current defense agency accounting systems with an Oracle-based, commercial off-the-shelf solution. CSC will be responsible for delivering a standards-based solution that will be compliant with the Office of Federal Financial Management and enable users to manage constrained resources more effectively and efficiently.

"This award underscores the BTA's confidence in CSC's proven leadership in federal financial modernization," said James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC's North American Public Sector business unit. "The implementation of the DAI across multiple defense agencies will enable the BTA to collect and analyze financial data more accurately, resulting in more timely decisions critical to mission success."

The mission of the BTA is to guide the transformation of business operations throughout the Department and to deliver enterprise-level capabilities that meet warfighters' needs.
