The certification program is designed to help customers identify solutions that they can trust to simplify their operations and help them gain control over their Dell computing environment. LANDesk has been a strong supporter of Dell's Partner Certification Program and has demonstrated the ability to integrate Dell's OpenManage technology into the LANDesk Server Manager and has passed Dell's stringent certification testing. The LANDesk solution has demonstrated that it can help customers optimize service availability across the enterprise, while enabling customers to minimize their management and ownership costs -- from the desktop to the data center.
"We are pleased to be one of the first vendors to complete the Dell
certification process for patch management because we know that this provides
additional assurance to our Dell customers," said
The Dell certification process requires the integrated software to gather inventory, detect vulnerability for Dell hardware updates, and deploy Dell Update Packages to 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th generation Dell PowerEdge servers. Additionally, the certification process requires the integrated solution to run on several enterprise server operating systems. Dell has placed the certified LANDesk Server Manager solution on its resale product list, enabling the Dell sales team to market the integrated solutions to enterprise customers.
Examples of the integration include the ability of LANDesk Server Manager to include the Dell hardware patch toolkit to provide a single console interface to update not only the operating system and application software but also the Dell PowerEdge server hardware including drivers, firmware and BIOS. LANDesk Server Manager also works with Dell OpenManage to enable administrators to more easily manage DRAC sessions, as well as offer a Web console that provides access to the server management capabilities offered by Dell OpenManage, such as the Dell service tags and Dell OpenManage versions for PowerEdge servers.
LANDesk system management solutions also provide access to the enterprise management capabilities such as performance monitoring, asset management, vulnerability scanning, license monitoring, OS provisioning, and centralized configuration management.
