RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amilpar (Bovespa: AMIL3;
Bloomberg: AMIL3 BZ and APAR < GO >; Reuters: AMIL3.SA), the largest managed
care organization in Brazil, announced today its results for the third quarter
of 2009.
Highlights:
Total membership stood at 3,216.3 thousand at the end of September 2009,
2.7% up on 3Q08 and approximately 2.5% higher than 2Q09.
Adjusted Operating Revenues totaled R$ 1,237.1 million in 3Q09, 8.4% up
year-on-year and 4.0% higher than the previous quarter. In the first nine
months, Adjusted Operating Revenues reached R$ 3,558.4 million, 10.2% more
than the same period last year.
Adjusted EBITDA came to R$ 84.8 million in 3Q09 (6.9% margin) and
R$ 274.6 million (7.7% margin) in 9M09.
The Medical Loss Ratio for health plan membership was 67.4% in 3Q09
(versus 68.1% in 3Q08) and 66.8% year-to-date (versus 66.9% in 9M08).
The Company posted an Adjusted Net Income of R$ 54.8 million in 3Q09,
27.7% up year-on-year, and R$ 173.4 million in 9M09, 18.0% lower compared to
the first nine months of 2008.
