SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Mangia, the first stadium-wide, in-seat delivery service, wrapped up a successful first season on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium with Real Salt Lake. The service debuted at the stadium to premium seats in April and then to the rest of the stadium in July. Branded RSLexpress, the service allows fans sitting anywhere in the stadium to text a food or merchandise order during the game and have it delivered right to their seat.

"Our goal is to enhance the fan experience with RSLexpress and I certainly think we hit the mark at Rio Tinto," said Hal Widlansky, CEO of Mangia Technologies. "The RSL fans have been extremely supportive and we could not have asked for a better team to have partnered with for our opening season."

Mangia closes its first season with some impressive numbers:

Number of subscribers: 1282 Number of orders processed: 1465 Number of items delivered: 5215 Number of text messages received: 67,974

"The RSL Express service at Rio Tinto Stadium provided a simple, innovative and state-of-the-art solution for our fans," said John Kimball, Senior Vice President, Business Officer for Real Salt Lake and Rio Tinto Stadium. "The turnkey solution allowed our customers to eat, drink and even order merchandise without having to leave their seats and miss a minute of action on the field."

Mangia Technologies is a Utah-based company that provides a platform for sports fans at stadiums and arenas to order food and merchandise, and eventually tickets, right from their seat. Using their mobile phones, fans select the items they'd like, confirm their order and then it is delivered to their seat. The service eliminates long waits in concession lines and minimizes time away from the action.
