By translating the language of the web (HTTP) into the language of databases (SQL), Prometheus HT//SQL eliminates many of the traditional barriers to data access. HT//SQL: Fast, Secure, Easy To Use
The Prometheus HT//SQL server is installed alongside a database and respects the database's existing configuration and security scheme. HT//SQL users create URLs following simple rules, and the server translates them into SQL queries, returning the results in a variety of browser- and application-ready formats like HTML, XML, JSON, and CSV.
For more advanced users, HT//SQL offers a powerful range of SQL commands and functions. Communication both ways is via HTTP (or HTTPS), eliminating the need for an extra application layer. HTSQL provides an easy and cost-effective alternative to custom application development or enterprise re-architecture, according to Pienczykowski.
