Extreme Networks' Reliable Wireless LAN Solution Selected by Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville, Ohio

Memorial Hospital is a 107-bed independent community hospital located northwest of Columbus. Central to the hospital's mission of being the community's link to quality healthcare is the provision for current medical practices with up-to-date technology. Resulting from cooperation between Extreme Networks(R), integrator NACR, and Memorial Hospital's IS staff, a recent technology upgrade now enables the hospital to provide secure and flexible wireless access for patients and visitors, who may spend long hours there.

Memorial Hospital has also set its future plans to consist of wireless connectivity that supports clinical assessments that are performed by nurses with the use of tablet PCs, this allows for instant information sharing and contributes to the accuracy of records. Additionally, the staff plans to later implement wireless carts on wheels (cows), where equipment can quickly be rolled where it is needed for such tasks as bedside registration in the ER, computerized physician order entry, as well as equipment tracking for IV pumps and wheel chairs throughout the facility.
