SAIC Awarded $19 Million Task Order to Support the Defense Health Information System

Company to Help Enhance the Composite Health Care System (CHCS)/Cache 2 (TC2)

SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a task order by the Department of Defense (DoD) to provide technical services in support of the Defense Health Information Management System (DHIMS) Composite Health Care System (CHCS)/Cache 2 (TC2). The task order has a one year base period of performance, a single one-year option and a total value of more than $19 million if the option is exercised. Work will be performed primarily in Falls Church, Virginia and San Diego, California. The task order was awarded under the Defense Medical Information Systems/Systems Integration, Design, Development, Operations and Maintenance Services (D/SIDDOMS) contract.

CHCS/TC2 is a theater inpatient system for clinical documentation, robust computerized provider order entry, ancillary service management and clinical decision support. The system helps capture, manage and share health data across the Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise. As the prime contractor for CHCS, SAIC has led the design, development, deployment, integration, maintenance, and management of CHCS and its architecture since 1988. Under the new task order, SAIC will develop and implement a graphical user interface (GUI) for the system, enhance software and provide sustainment services including testing, integration, and project-level configuration and data management. SAIC will also provide logistical operations and maintenance, site operations and training support.
