Pioneer Introduces New Qflix-Enabled Drives

NOVATO, Calif. (Map) - NOVATO, Calif., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonic Solutions(R) (Nasdaq: SNIC), the leader in digital media software, today announced that Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. has introduced two DVD/CD computer writers featuring Sonic's Qflix(TM) technology. The new Pioneer(R) internal DVR-2920Q and external DVR-X162Q DVD/CD writers will enable consumers to download and burn DVDs of their favorite Hollywood movies from CinemaNow for playback on standard and high-definition DVD players. The writers will be available at major retailers and direct from Pioneer at http://www.pioneerelectronics.com.

Pioneer becomes the latest major manufacturer to introduce Qflix-enabled drives. Last month, Dell announced the availability of a Qflix drive bundle, which is an option on most Inspiron, Studio and XPS laptops and sold through Dell's Entertainment, Software and Accessories online store.
