BUD LIGHT PRESENTS CARLOS MENCIA: AT CLOSE RANGE Tour to Hit 80 U.S. Cities This Year

LOS ANGELES (Map) - LOS ANGELES, May 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Carlos Mencia, superstar, stand-up comedian, is undoubtedly one of today's most lauded entertainers and feared comics. Whether it is man-on-the-street interviews, studio comedy, commercial parodies, or nationwide sold-out tours, Mencia demonstrates an extraordinary ability to connect with a diverse audience. He will launch an 80-city stand-up comedy tour, BUD LIGHT PRESENTS CARLOS MENCIA: AT CLOSE RANGE, at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado on July 26th. The tour is produced by Live Nation Comedy and Icon Entertainment, with tickets on sale beginning May 16th at http://www.livenation.com.

One of the most popular comedians in the country, Mencia has the rare gift of insightful perception and precise delivery when addressing a variety of subjects, including ethnic stereotypes, racism and people's inability to laugh at themselves. He represents the internal voice inside us and demands we admit to thinking what he says out loud. Mencia's 2006 COMEDY CENTRAL Original Stand-up Special, "Carlos Mencia: No Strings Attached," was the first COMEDY CENTRAL Original Stand-up Special DVD to achieve Platinum sales status. Mencia's new comedy special for Comedy Central, "

Carlos Mencia * * Performance Enhanced," will premiere on Sunday, May 18 at 9:00p.m.

Mencia's "Mind of Mencia" debuted on Comedy Central in early 2005. Since then, it has become one of the strongest shows in the network's history, averaging about 1.5 million total viewers. "Mind of Mencia" is executive produced by Mencia and Robert Morton ("Late Night with David Letterman"). With the continued success of the show, the network has ordered a fourth season of the weekly hit, set to premiere Wednesday, May 21 at 10:30p.m. with ten all-new episodes. The new season will take on such topics as the election, recession, war and other controversial issues.

In the summer of 2007, Mencia starred opposite Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan in the Farrelly Brothers' hit feature film, "The Heartbreak Kid" (DreamWorks). In the fall of 2007, Mencia headlined a nationwide comedy tour titled "Carlos Mencia Live Presented by Bud Light." Mencia recently returned from his second trip to Kuwait after hosting "Operation Myspace," an exclusive concert for American Troops in the Middle East alongside Jessica Simpson and The Pussycat Dolls. The special aired on FX in April 2008.
