Select Comfort Helps Families Sleep Better in Los Angeles

MINNEAPOLIS (Map) - MINNEAPOLIS, Mar. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Select Comfort Corporation (Nasdaq: SCSS), the nation's leading bed retailer, is donating 106 SLEEP NUMBER(R) beds plus bedding accessories to the new Ronald McDonald House(R) of Los Angeles. Select Comfort will deliver and set-up the beds on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.

Good Support for Better Sleep

Each year, thousands of families stay at Ronald McDonald Houses while their children receive medical treatment at nearby hospitals. These family members frequently experience stress and anxiety that can disrupt sleep schedules, cause insomnia and provoke a greater occurrence of daytime sleepiness. It is during these stressful times that restorative sleep is needed most for recovery and healing.

In 2001, Select Comfort was named the "Official Bed Provider" for Ronald McDonald House Charities(R) with an initial donation of 146 Sleep Number(R) beds -- one for each Ronald McDonald House in the United States. To date, the company has donated more than 5,000 Sleep Number beds to Ronald McDonald Houses across North America.

The Sleep Number bed utilizes patented air-chamber technology that allows the mattress to be quickly adjusted for personalized comfort on each side of the bed via a hand-held remote control. More Sleep Number beds and various bedding accessories will be donated to Ronald McDonald Houses across the country this year. To date, Select Comfort and its employees have donated more than 5,000 Sleep Number beds, nearly 9,000 employee volunteer hours, and more than $1.5 million in contributions from employee payroll deductions and other fundraising activities. The Ronald McDonald House Story

Ronald McDonald House was created through the leadership of Fred Hill, a former Philadelphia Eagles player, and his wife Fran, who grew tired of sleeping on hospital furniture while their young daughter received leukemia treatments.
