High school football scores for week one. Defending District 11 4A champs Easton dominated visiting Pennsbury with a 34-13 victory at Cottingham Stadium. The Wilson Warriors traveled to Palmerton and won by a score of 28-6. The victory extended their Colonial League win streak to 24 and gave Coach Brett Comp his 100th career victory. Over in Bethlehem, the Liberty Hurricanes blew by visiting Glen Mills 35-14 and gave Coach Dave Brown his first career victory. Southern Lehigh visited Catasauqua and defeated the Rough Riders 21-0 in a Colonial League game. Defending 4A state champion LaSalle Catholic continued its winning ways with a 27-14 victory over perennial power North Penn.

Friday evening: Emmaus at Whitehall 7 pm.; Nazareth at Easton 7 pm.; Saturday games: Northern Lehigh at Wilson 1:30 pm; Palmerton at Southern Lehigh 7 pm.; Freedom at Central Catholic 7 pm.

In local college football, Lehigh University defeated Drake University 28-14 in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday evening. Senior running back Jay Campbell rushed for 3 touchdowns. Lehigh hosts defending FCS champion Villanova on Saturday 12:30 pm. in Bethlehem at Goodman Stadium.
Visiting Delaware Valley College defeated Muhlenberg College 27-7 Saturday evening in Allentown. Muhlenberg has a bye this week. Moravian College opened its season at home on Bethlehem's Rocco Calvo Field with a 12-6 win against Susquehanna. Moravian College plays again Saturday afternoon against McDaniel College at 2 pm. in Westminster, MD.
Lafayette College opens its season with a Saturday evening home game in Easton at 6 pm. with Patriot League opponent Georgetown.
